Dual-Motor Gear Drive Prototype

3D-printed dual-motor gear drive prototype: printed gears and housings assembled with two motors to test a mechanism.

Project Overview

A mechanism needed a working gear drive driven by two motors to prove the concept before investing in machined parts. We printed the gears and housings so the drive could be assembled and run.

What We Made

  • Lime-green printed gears meshing across the drive
  • Black printed housings that hold the two motors in position
  • A complete assembly wired up for functional testing

Why 3D Printing

Printed gears and housings let a mechanism be assembled and run early, so layout, meshing and clearances can be checked on real hardware and revised before moving to production materials. Send us your CAD and describe the loads and we will advise on material and process.
